Welcome to Friday everyone. Another work week done and dusted or nearly – yay to us!
So how did you go on the kindness front this week? Did you feel the love? I hope so. I hope that you had a bucket load of kindness come your way and also that you put lots of the good stuff out there too. I also hope that lots of you managed some small personal acts of rebellion. Nothing too naughty but something that put a spring in your step and a smile on your face.
So life hacks….
Living with two 16 year olds I have been hearing about life hacks quite a bit lately. Now being the dinosaur that I clearly am, until recently I had heard the phrase bandied about (how’s that for an old foggie way of writing) but I had never paid too much attention to it. Not wanting to be completely out of it I looked it up on Wikipedia (clearly showing my dinosaur status again) and found that Life Hacking is said to refer “to any trick, shortcut, skill, or novelty method that increases productivity and efficiency, in all walks of life”.
Now I am always on board for something that helps speed up the day to day grind leaving me more time to spend productively elsewhere, or if I am being really honest, leaving me more time to read a book, take a bath, eat chocolate… you get the idea…. anything that gives me back time to be kind to myself and others or time to opt out of the grind with a Small Ordinary Act of Rebellion (SOAK). I am now on board with the whole notion of life hacks and have decided that maybe, just maybe, we can work out some small kindness and rebellion hacks that will help us all get through each week with a little more calm and a lot more joy in each of our little worlds and the lives of people we come into contact with.
So from now on I am going to try and come up with a weekly SOAK & SOAR Life Hack. Most likely it will be posted before the start of a new working week so that if you want to give it a go as you venture forth into another week of putting one foot in front of the other you will have a suggested hack you can have a crack at.
What works for you on the kindness front? Any shortcuts you use for making sure kindness is part of your day to day life? How about small acts of rebellion? Got any hacks you like for stirring things up and having some harmless fun in your life? I would love everyone to put their thinking caps on and come up with some Soak & Soar Hacks you would like explored and discussed. Any suggestions are most welcome.
Looking forward to hacking through life with you!
Hope you have a great weekend full of kindness and fun.
